In the '80's she was thrust into an inadvertent recording career when a bootleg tape of stunningly original songs was released in the UK and her incredible talent exposed to the world. In the ensuing bidding war following the phenomena of what became known on release as The Texas Campfire Tapes, Mercury Records signed her and she produced a trilogy of Grammy-nominated albums over the next five years, launched by her signature song and massive hit, Anchorage. One of America's great singer songwriters, a very special night is promised - tickets on sale now. 11th Baghdaddies + support Damba: Hare & Hounds 7.30pm ‘The band have a particular flair for the Balkans and capture its frenetic energy and flamboyance wonderfully. There is also a fair share of klezmer, jazz, ska and punk – an anarchic fusion where Ivo Papasov meets The Clash meets The Beat’ songlines Newly formed trio Damba involves 3 members of the Destroyers (15-piece Birmingham based big band), Louis Robinson (violin), Dave Adams (accordion) and Mark Davies (guitar and tuba). The band plays a variety of tunes borrowed from genres as diverse as klezmer, hot club, tango, country and western and Fraggle Rock! 16th Mama Rosin + support Dirty Old Folkers & Mellow Peaches: Hare & Hounds 7.30pm This tour coincides with the release for their fourth album ‘Bye Bye Bayou’ Produced by Jon Spencer of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, under his direction Mama Rosin hit a voodoo groove akin to that which powered The Gun Club & The Cramps. Bye Bye Bayou is in-ya-face feral rock’n’roll. This album bites like an alligator ! 24th My Darling Clementine + support Arkala: Hare & Hounds 7.30pm "It was theatre, it was country music, it was rock 'n' roll ' Maverick My Darling Clementine is the combined talents of real life husband and wife team Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish. Their universally critically acclaimed debut album, "How Do You Plead? " has been hailed as “the best British Country Record ever” and had fans and critics alike reaching for the superlatives. 25th Slim Chance + support Gary Odea’s Cosmic Souls: Hare & Hounds 7.30pm Slim Chance, the band Ronnie Lane formed when he left the Faces, is treading the boards again. Original members Steve Simpson, Charlie Hart, Steve Bingham, Alun Davies and Colin Davey, 'plus occasional guest Geraint Watkins are playing Ronnie’s songs in the spirit of the band’s previous incarnations. This incarnation came together after Charlie Hart and Steve Simpson realized that they were not alone in their lasting affection for Ronnie and their sky-high regard for his songs.
