Looe-based folk band The Changing Room delivers original, award-winning songs in English and Cornish language. Formed in 2014 by Tanya Brittain and Sam Kelly, R2 Magazine said at the time “It feels like a little musical magic happened”.
The band is already multi-award winning having won Kan rag Kernow 2015 and the International Pan Celtic Song Contest 2015. Sam also won the Horizon Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2016.
The band’s debut album Behind the Lace is listed in The Telegraph’s “Best Folk Albums of 2015″. “Beguiling, Behind the Lace will ensnare folk fans.” The Telegraph
Tanya and Sam are joined regularly for live performances by Jamie Francis (Stark), Evan Carson (The Willows) and harpist Morrigan Palmer Brown and together they deliver rootsy, Celtic-infused songs heavily influenced by the industrial heritage of Cornwall.. The Changing Room’s next tour starts in November 2016 and we’re really pleased they are coming back to play for us in Kingskerswell again..
“A bit like a Mr Benn adventure … The Changing Room is where the magic happens.” UK Folk Radio
