Tom is one of thirteen artists appearing on April 2nd at Green Light Unplugged CD launch—Simon Kingskerswell Parish Church Doors 7pm £9 adv £10 door
Green Light Unplugged is a
music project, in partnership with South Devon College, which aims to showcase local original talent and raise awareness and
funds for Macmillan cancer support, Devon. In 2016, from
September to December acoustic artists were invited to perform their own music
at various venues in and around South Devon.
Performances were recorded and artists were able to submit their songs for a
competition to be recorded for an album. Judging has been done and 13 talented
acts were selected and invited to record their songs.
The resulting album will be launched at this showcase event at Kingskerswell Parish Church on 2nd April, where artists will perform their songs
live. All the proceeds from the gigs and the CD and download sales will be
going to Macmillan to help people affected by cancer in Devon.
''Green Light Unplugged offer something different. They are encouraging people
to write their own music and sing their own songs. It's easy to keep playing
'crowd pleasers', the songs everyone knows and wants to sing along to, but they
are giving people permission to be creative and to become more confident about
their work, and all in support of Macmillan, such a fantastic cause. A definite
win-win for all involved. I am proud to support the Green Light Unplugged
project and I'll definitely be buying their CD!' Chris Difford (Squeeze)
Artists featured on the CD and to be performing live on the night are:
Tom Baker, Alfie Snogger, Georgia O' Marah, Sam Fearon, Tierney Roberts &
Connor Powell, Rachel Jones,Twigg, Pete Faloon, Adrian Connery, Izzy Warren,
Anna Hamill, Ophelia Pearce, Amber Sky Tix & info 07815 620402
